Godwin Ize-Iyamu attended the famous Edo College in Benin City and the University of Central Florida (Orlando, Florida, USA) where he obtained an M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering (magna cum laude) in June 1977.
He later bagged an M.Sc. degree in Accounting from the University of Houston (Houston, Texas, USA) and qualified as a Certified Public Accountant in 1983, clinching "The Top Ten Award" in the 1982 Texas State CPA Examinations.
With over 25 years’ banking experience, Godwin is an acknowledged industry authority in corporate and wholesale banking. He was the other co-chair of the team that managed the STB-UBA merger. He was Executive Director and Regional Bank Head in charge of Lagos Region prior to his current position as Executive Director, Wholesale Banking, UBA Nigeria-South.
