Executive Management Committee (EXCO)
The management team of the group is made up of a crop of seasoned and industry-recognized professionals with diverse but complementary skills in various backgrounds as well as depths of experiences (garnered from national and international institutions).
Over the years, these executives have brought their knowledge, experience and leadership to bear in the development and delivery of solutions (through products and services) to meet the needs of our customers, and in the process contributing to sustaining the performance of the group till date.
The Executive Management Committee (EXCO) of the group comprises the following members:
Tony O. Elumelu, (MFR) B.Sc, M.Sc (Economics), AMP (Harvard), the GMD/CEO, is an alumnus of Harvard Business School. He also serves as the Chairman of ValuCard Nigeria Limited (VISA operated). Tony oversaw the most successful corporate turnaround experience in the history of Nigerian banking as the CEO of the erstwhile Standard Trust Bank Plc.
Phillips Oduoza, has a First Class degree in Civil Engineering, M.Sc and AMP (Harvard) with over 19 years’ banking experience. He was the Deputy Managing Director of the erstwhile Reliance Bank prior to joining UBA. He is now Deputy Managing Director, UBA Nigeria-South.
Faith Tuedor-Matthews, B.Sc, M.Sc (Business Administration), AMP (Harvard), has over 20 years’ banking experience and is currently Deputy Managing Director, UBA Nigeria-North. Prior to this, she was Regional Bank Head of UBA Abuja Bank.
Godwin Ize-Iyamu, M.Sc (Mechanical Engineering), CPA, AMP (Insead, France), has over 25 years’ banking experience. Godwin is an acknowledged industry authority in corporate banking. He is Executive Director, Wholesale Banking.
Alhaji Ibrahim Jega, B.Sc in Business Administration and an MBA from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, has over 25 years’ experience from The Nigerian Bank for Commerce and Industry and Afribank Nigeria Plc. He joined UBA Plc in 2004 and is Executive Director, Public Sector & State Governments.
Victor O. Osadolor, B.Sc (Accounting), AMP (Harvard), is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and honorary life member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) with 2 decades of banking experience. Prior to joining UBA, he was the DMD/COO of Continental Trust Bank. He was Executive Director-Risk Management & Finance in UBA, prior to ascending his current position as Group Chief Finance Officer.
Emmanuel N. Nnorom, a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), is the bank's Group Chief Operating Officer. He is a seasoned auditor and accountant with over 2 decades of experience.
Angela Nwabuoku, currently Executive Director-Product & Segment Banking, is a seasoned banker with over 22 years’ experience acquired in financial services institutions in several countries across West Africa. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The American University Washington D.C. and became a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 1985.
Rasheed Olaoluwa, First Class honors degree in Civil Engineering, MBA, was the MD/CEO of the erstwhile Universal Trust Bank PLC prior to joining UBA. He has had an illustrious banking career, playing senior roles in marketing and relationship management, treasury management, currency trading and investment banking. He is now Chief Executive Officer, UBA International. Prior to this appointment, he was Regional CEO-UBA West & Central Africa.
Kennedy Uzoka, B.Sc., MBA, is the Group Director of Resources, with responsibility over Human Capital Management and Corporate Services. Kennedy, a multiple awards winner brings a unique set of experience to the management team as one of the few members that have functioned in both front office and back office roles at very senior levels. Prior to his current role, he was Head, Strategy & Business Transformation of UBA Group and later Regional Bank Head, South Bank. Prior to the merger, he was at various times Regional Director-South East, Vice President-Northern Zone, Chief Marketing Officer-FCT, Chief Marketing Officer, Lagos and later as Managing Executive Officer. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School in Boston, USA and the International Institute of Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
David Isiavwe, is a Certified Information System Security Practitioner, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and holds an M.Sc. degree in Accounting (Distinction) from the University of Lagos. He is currently Head of Group Internal Audit.
Aidevo Odu-Thomas, UBA’s Company Secretary, is Secretary to the Group ExCo. A Law graduate of the University of Ife, she holds a Master of Laws degree from Queen Mary and Westerfield College, University of London and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1983. Prior to joining UBA, she was in private legal practice and has worked as an in-house counsel in several organizations since 1985.
