UBA named in Nigeria’s 100 most respected companies

United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has
been named among the top 100 most respected companies in Nigeria. The
recognition came at an awards night held in Lagos on Wednesday, October 29,
2014 by BusinessDay, Nigeria’s leading business paper.

The top 100 companies, which were
selected by BusinessDay Research and Intelligence Unit (BRIU) in collaboration
with Jobberman survey, made use of workplace metrics such as company culture,
salary and benefits, non-salary benefits, prestige or company brand, management
integrity and commitment to staff welfare.
To arrive at the top 100 most
respected companies BRIU’s researchers polled 11,982 respondents scattered
across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria namely; Jos, Kaduna, Abuja, Sokoto,
Gombe, Bauchi, Akure, Enugu, Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Benin city.
“We sifted through thousands of
companies before arriving at the top 100 most respected companies” Frank
Aigbogun, Publisher of BusinessDay Newspapers, said in his speech at the event.
Charles Aigbe, Divisional Head,
Marketing and Corporate Relations, who was at the event to receive the
recognition on behalf of UBA, thanked the organizers for affirming  UBA’s
position as one of Nigeria’s most respected companies, saying that the bank has
worked hard over the years to earn the respect of Nigerians and build an
African brand that is respected globally.
UBA was also recently ranked in “Top
50 brands Nigeria” a celebration of 50 most popular and healthy brands in
Nigeria. This was the outcome of an evaluation exercise carried out by APT
Brand International Limited in association with Vconnect Global Services and
the Certified Board of Administrators of Nigeria, CBAN.
 
The criteria for selection of the Top 50 Brands Nigeria included
market acceptability, corporate social responsibility, vision and innovation,
popularity evaluation, and customer service delivery.
