Wisdom is like a Baobab tree

This is a proverb of the Ewe People
of Ghana. The Ewe is a main ethnic group resident across the Southeastern
region of Ghana, the Volta Region in Southern Togo and in Western Benin
Republic.  The Ewe people speak the Ewe language which is closely related to
the Gbe Languages like Fon and the Aja of Togo and Benin. 
There are different stories about
the origins of the Ewe people. One account says they are originally from
Ketu, a Yoruba area in Benin. Another account says they are from Oyo, another
Yoruba town in Western Nigeria while a third account says they are from Kotu or
Amedzowe east of the Niger.
The Ewe people have some interesting
concepts about the place of the man in the family, respect, leadership, child
naming, God or religion.
