UBA Benin launched its new mobile money transfer service called B-MO (Bestcash money) on 13 September. The service essentially allows money transfers (sending and receiving) without using a GSM network. It offers a less expensive price structure than that offered by telecoms.
Speaking at the launch of the product, Franck Ahissou, Director of Digital Banking said “UBA desires to provide quality services to customers and give them total autonomy in the acquisition and management of their assets. He added that soon people will be able to do the same from their B-Mo account to their prepaid card.
Also present at the event was the CEO of Bestcash Money Romuald Hodonou who talked about what informed the decision to come up with a money transfer solution such as B-MO. He further stated some of the functions of B-MO which include the transfer of money from account to account without GSM network preference; depositing and withdrawing money regardless of the GSM network; fundraising through remote sites; mass payments for payment needs for a large number of individuals instantly; payments of invoices for the various products and services.
Upon registration, a client has a daily transfer limit of 10,000 FCFA and a monthly limit of 200,000 FCFA which can be increased when their account is validated.
To use B-MO simply download the app from Play store or App store for Android and Apple users respectively.
