UBA Foundation, on the 22nd of September, announced the winner of the inaugural National Essay Competition in Uganda.
The winner of the competition Ms. Terisah Hanah from Ndejje Senior Secondary School, Uganda, walked away with a university scholarship worth Ugx 3.5 million, a laptop and a trophy, the first and second runners-up; Jonathan Kimara and Richard Odeke Ekituno also won laptops and plaques each.
Over 300 essays were submitted and evaluated by three top Literature lecturers from accredited Universities.
Speaking during the event, UBA Uganda CEO/MD, Chioma Mang congratulated the winners and the top 10 finalists.
The National Essay Competition was introduced to equip students with good communication skills to position them for success in the professional world.
The competition provides a competitive platform to develop the intellectual and writing abilities of senior secondary school students across the continent.
