Who we are
We are a group of ex-United
Bank for Africa staff with
a common interest in making a
positive impact in our lives and
businesses and meaningfully
contributing to society.
We are made up of retired or ex-UBA staff in active careers, vocations, or businesses from all around the world. We pull together our social, business, and other resources for the benefits and wellbeing of our members, families, and our communities.
We welcome new members who were staff of UBA irrespective of the period spent with the bank.
Our Philosophy and values
We welcome new members who were staff of UBA irrespective of the period spent with the bank.
We believe in the importance of our productive past and how meeting others in the workplace is greater than how or where we first met for a purpose. We are aware of the need to relate with one another given the shared focus and value we had in the past. Our philosophy is to do and achieve together what none of us could do alone. In Kenneth H. Blanchard’s words, “None of us is as smart as all of us.”
Our values of friendliness, mutual respect, diversity, and common good will enable us to achieve our objectives of making a positive impact on our lives and our communities.

We will always strive to create and promote friendliness and good nature among ourselves and other stakeholders. We will build bonds by leveraging our past work experience and shared beliefs.

We will endeavour to build a community where mutual respect is the foundation.

We will appreciate the ideas, perspectives and values that will be brought to the fore for the betterment of the community.

We will continue to work for the common good of the Alma mater and the Alumni community
Our Objectives
We welcome new members who were staff of UBA irrespective of the period spent with the bank.
- 1. To be a social and emotional support pillar for our members’ wellbeing and mental health through our programmes and engagements. Our programmes shall focus on the social, business and mental wellbeing of our members.
- 2. To create opportunities among our members and advance mutual collectiveness.
- 3. To relate and support the advancement of UBA in building a customer-centric legacy and financial inclusion for people in Africa.
- 4. To drive the entrepreneurial spirits in members irrespective of status, stage of business and to multiply business and social success among members.
- 5. To contribute in an enduring and meaningful way to our communities and in all the locations of the presence of the United Bank for Africa.

After we move in our careers and lives, the time we spent in UBA should not be forgotten. Our UBA Alumni Network provides you with opportunities to stay in touch with the tribe, network with fellow alumni and continue contributing to – and benefiting from – the rich diversity and heritage you were a part of.
