On Wednesday 8th January, Group Chairman Tony O. Elumelu, paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Professor Alpha Condé, President of the Republic of Guinea. Accompanied by the Governor of Kaduna State, he reiterated his interest and support for projects that will lead to the empowerment of young Africans through entrepreneurship. He also said he was willing to step up investment in the country with the aim of forming a coalition of self-sufficient, stable and prosperous African countries.
Upon arrival, he was met by a delegation of government officials but also by young recipients of Tony Elumelu Foundation funding, all years combined. President Condé welcomed Elumelu declaring that entrepreneurship will promote sustainable development in Guinea but also throughout Africa. He also praised Elumelu’s long-term commitment to the private sector and to entrepreneurs across the continent while encouraging Elumelu to invest in the Guinean mining sector.
