On 30th October 2020, UBA Zambia under the UBA Foundation’s Read Africa Initiative donated 200 literature books to Big Dreams Primary/Secondary School in Chitambo district.
Speaking during the handover ceremony UBA Zambia Board Member Dr Tukiya Kankasa-Mabula explained that the Read Africa initiative is aimed at rekindling the dwindling reading culture among African youths. She said through this programme the Foundation donates literature books authored by African writers to schools across the continent.
She urged the students to embrace reading as it unlocks one’s imagination opens doors to new opportunities.
Big Dreams School Director Aphet Kabamba thanked UBA Zambia for the donation and said the books will go a long way in providing adequate school reading materials for the over 150,000 pupils at the school.
